Tea, Tea Everywhere

Could these cooking show people at least do some stuff on tea? And some really good tea? Because I don't want any more Constant Comment or anything that comes in a teabag. I want something uncommon, rare, delicious... and that I brew as loose leaves. Maybe a Darjeeling or an Oolong. No more boring tea! I'm getting really bitchy as this illness wears on.

I found a place at the Algonquin Commons that might help. It's called Tea Gschendner and they have a book with all the hundreds of teas they have in stock and a http://www.teagschwendner.com" rel="nofollow">Web site that may list some of it as well.

I can send you my copy of the book if you'd like. I'm a fan of their Japan Sencha Extra Fine (classic green tea). Let me know via e-mail.

It comes in a box of tea bags, but it cures the Grinch in me and smells wonderful. Try Good Earth brand herbal tea in the original flavor. Or, if you are really after the anti-oxidants, try their green tea. I'm not much of a green tea fan, but I like this one. I find it in the natural foods part of my regular grocery store.

I have so tried to like tea, but coffee wins every time. I bought some Assam Gold Tip loose-leaf from Peet's last night for a friend, though.

Thanks for the recommendations! At least I have the time to sit here and order them online.

Oh, shit. Don't tell Kennimus, ok? Ssshhhhhh.

You know, technically Chai is tea - and hey, honey is good for your throat.

But the truth is I like the new White Teas from Lipton. They are bagged teas, but they are still yumm-o.

I hope you feel better soon.

: )
